Critical Day
Tomorrow, my future in my job can take another turn. I am waiting for that already for a long long time, and now it is the time. I will meet with my possible future manager and 2 of his team members.

web 2.0 or what !
Interesting, all these interpretations of the current situation of web technology and usage.
So, let me tell you what I think !
web 2.0 is a cool set of features (ajax, javascript, dom2), at the very low level, then a bunch of super easy multiplatform webdev tools and servers (ruby with RubyOnRails, java and the struts on tomcat with apache underneath), and finally some very cool applications of all that stuff (blog, wiki), with some very open thinking companies (36Signals, Google, Ebay).
The result for the users of us, is that publishing on the web is now very easy, far from the html+ftp kind of classics, and that we can think about the web as the village central square where people are meeting each other, sharing their experiences and their thoughts.
On another side, progress in internet access speed, vpn technology with strong authentication lead to better conditions to work from home or from somewhere else.
From my point of view, the next step is the disappearance of cables for a generalization of wifi-like LANs, the generalization of the computing utilities and the spreading of very smart mobile access device with video capabilities.
So, let me tell you what I think !

Post it express
I have tried this on the intranet, and it works very well.
What I do not very understand yet, and this application could help me, is that people are not looking at the web page at all.
I asked my colleagues if they've seen it, and they are very surprised : "hu, it's cool but I didn't mentionned it!".
It looks like an effective com must bound an email and a web page : that could be the lesson.

I am going to try a new buzz : secondlife. Sun said they had open a virtual press conf room. I decided to go there and make my own opinion. Looks great, either right now it's closed for repair after a grief attack !!!! damned !!!

Radio for grown up
Tell me what radio you're listening and I'll tell you your age !
I am swapping currently between FIP (France Inter Paris) which play 50% of jazz, and TSF which is a 100% jazz radio.
I can feel that in 10 years from now I'll be listening to Classique and Musique, with some shift to Culture :-)

Breakfast
My breakfast currently is a very simple routine : one spoon of Ricore (it is instant coffe + instant chicore), in a half boiling water/ half cold milk mug.
Important : the milk has to be cold, the hot milk is more difficult to process by my stomac.
This is for the whole week but sunday. On sunday, I am starting with 3 scrambled eggs, a slice or 2 of dutch cheese and ham (cold, not fryed).
That's all folks !

My killer recipe : the roquefort sauce (for the dummies)
150 g Roquefort
20 cl cream
2 coffee spoon of Maizena in 15 cl of water
- stir the Roquefort in a frying pan until it melts almost totally.
- pour the cream and stir to mix everything
- mix the maizena in the cold water so you get a white liquid and pour this in the frying pan while you keep stirring.
Ready !

Let's Start a New Year
I feel like today is the real start of this year at work.
The street is full of car noises, horns, some people shouting at each other.
Tomorrow will be worse, with the school opening day, and then it will be every day a bad day, until next vacations.
I begin this day classically, reading my google mails, then my professional mailbox.
A glance at the stock price to know when my options will finally have some value (that's not really good for the mood, but I want to be aware i I can get something out of these stocks).
Then waiting for the bathroom... a second cup of coffee may be ? I love Ricore with (cold) milk.
I plan to be at work around 9AM today, that is not so early but far enough according with what I have to do.

Buying a used table
Today we have bought a table 75x75cm for the kitchen, in Clamart, for 30 euros.
It has very strong legs, and the above is clean.
The current table in our kitchen will go to our normandy farm : it will be the very first piece of furniture that we will have there from our own.
Today we ave also identified some candidate as sofas and armchairs :-) But we couldn't buy them because we don't know where to keep them until we get the keys.

Knockando, an ocean for the soul
I have a glass of Knockando, Slow Matured, Aged 18 years and it's soooooooo good !
I don't know what is the effect of smocking herbs, but I have knockando and that's all hard enough for my mind to fly 10 thousand miles a second !

Reading 2 at the same time
I am currently making an experiment : I am reading 2 books, that is not a really original thing, as a lot of people are reading even a lot of more than 2, but here, remember that I am a french man, there is one novel in russian and another one in english.
The russian one is "A place under the sun" and it's a murder somewhere in Moscow in the artist circles.
The second is somehow related to Moscow too, at least by the title : The Moscow Vector. It's pure spy game with military and politics, with the russians against almost all the rest of the world. Quite funny and surely entertainly.
it's 11:22PM here when I am posting this and I thing it will not long that I go to bed for my readings :-)

A Great Game
I have just finished a great game of Armies of Exigo, where I finished very well indeed.
I am very curious of the first time when somebody will add some snapshot through this blog ?????
Tomorrow is friday, and I am going to Saint Witz for the morning : not bad, it's going to be different than the office. It's like trying to save old craps from the trash can. Let see what I can bring back home :-)
On Saturday evening, it's planned to go to the birthday party of Ilona, with Jose and their baby Umberto.
I fell tired today, and probably I'll have to drive Fount to the prefecture at 5AM ! hugh !
It could be either a good thing because I am not sleeping very well these days. Once back home I'll connect to the internet and surf on the blogs.
I don't know why, but I barely did once an new accaintance on the internet, at the time I was using ICQ, and then nobody else.
Strange !

I am playing a lot with this game on my PC.
My son offered me this game for my birthday, and since this date, I am doing 1 to 4/5 games a day !
The game play is a Empire Earth like, with 3 kinds of civ at the beginning.

New Web Features
I think that people are now just at the beginning of finding all the different ways we can build networks with the web.
Look at these two, I just added here : the snapshot and last.fm !!! I do like that, because it's a mix of techno and and it really can build relationships.
And it's more fun !!!!! not "to compete", as it was said on the pinballs games, but just to feel that we are not alone !
